For 40 years, what started as one summer program on the streets of Precinct One has grown into a lifeline for thousands of Harris County families. In 1986, Commissioner El Franco Lee launched the Street Olympics with a simple idea: every child deserves a safe place to play, learn, and be seen. That idea took root — growing into aquatics programs, academic enrichment, leadership pipelines, and civic engagement initiatives that now reach up to 2,500 families each year. Today, as the One for All Foundation, we carry that same founding spirit forward under Commissioner Rodney Ellis’s leadership: the belief that a child’s zip code should never decide their destiny. Four decades in, our commitment hasn’t changed — only the number of lives it’s touched.
