Recreation & Enrichment
Recreation & Enrichment Programs are designed to offer children, youth, and families access to quality activities that are comparable to private classes at no cost, so everyone has access to extracurricular learning activities that can impact learning for a lifetime.
Programs are offered year-round at no cost to families throughout Harris County Precinct One. Programs are designed with the help of community feedback to ensure that what is offered is relevant and needed.
PROGRAMS OFFERED
SPORTS LEAGUES & RIDEONE
Basketball, soccer, cycling—emphasizing fitness and fun. The RideOne bike safety education program and sports leagues are incorporated into our after-school and summer programming.
AQUATICS
The Aquatics program offers year-round programs such as learn-to-swim for ages 6 and older and aqua zumba, water aerobics, and lap swimming for adults 18 and older.
ENRICHMENT ACADEMIES
This Out of School Time Program was designed to keep children and youth engaged after school and during summer. Tracks such as chess, art, literacy club, and others are offered to deter summer learning loss and to enhance learning opportunities.
